Alt-rock guitarist Ash releases first single

Auckland alt-rock soloist Ash has just dropped her first single ‘Outta Space’

It is the first release from her upcoming album which will feature a collection of guitar-driven alt-rock tracks all written by Ash.
Ash says Outta Space started out as a piano ballad and eventually evolved into an upbeat indie rock track which draws inspiration from The Kills, King Crimson, and Foo Fighters. Outta Space is about the chaos and excitement of living in the city while dealing with anxieties and the pressure of everyday life and the old memories that it brings back.
Her forthcoming album is yet to be named but she says the songs are starting to fall into place and a theme is beginning to emerge. The album will be produced in her home studio as she likes to take a DIY approach to her music.
Keep an eye out for more music and live shows from Ash in the near future!
Outta Space is available now on Soundcloud and Bandcamp

Just as I thought summer was coming to a close, I headed out to see the man who created Summer (of 69) himself, Bryan Adams on his Shine A Light tour. At his only Auckland show, a frequent flyer to our shores, didn't quite sell out Spark Arena however, the crowd certainly made it sound like it...
