Prophets of Rage release self-titled single and announce North American tour
Prophets of Rage, the Rage Against The Machine, Cypress Hill and Public Enemy supergroup, have released their first single.
A self-titled work, the first song from the group – who comprise of Tim Commerford, Tom Morello and Brad Wilk from RATM and Public Enemy’s Chuck D and DJ Lord, as well as Cypress Hill’s B-Real – has seen real progress since the band’s latest update, when Morello confirmed at the end of June that they’d be heading into the studio to record the live song ‘The Party’s Over’.
The band have now confirmed that they’ll soon release an EP, which ‘Prophets of Rage’ – which was produced by RATM and Audioslave man Brendan O’Brien – will feature on. Listen to the first song, ‘Prophets of Rage’, from the band below:
The song emerges the day before the band are set to play a special show in Cleveland, Ohio, which is where the Republican National Convention is being held. Donald Trump will formally accept the nomination as the party’s presidential candidate during the Convention. Prophets of Rage will perform the single on Jimmy Kimmel Live! next Monday (Juy 25). They’ll also embark on a North American tour in August.
